Growing Into Christ Followers and Disciples

Welcome to White Oak Methodist

You are God’s workmanship, created in Christ to do good works! We’ll help you discover the life of high adventure when you surrender all to Jesus.

Who We Are

We are men, women, children, plumbers, electricians, businessmen and women, students, teachers, motorcycle riders, athletes, artist, young, and old, but most of all we are family.

Why We Are Here

It is our desire to create disciple making communities. We do this through reaching people, teaching them to love and serve Jesus, and sending them to reach, teach, and send others.
Ministry Areas Reach
People Matter
As we encounter others in our life, as sure is the day waits for no one, there are folks struggling with their own life, their self understanding. We believe we have something to give them hope, a way out of the water, and that is your personal experience of Christ and how Christ brought you back up to the surface. We reach out and within through our ministry.
Ministry Areas Connect
We believe that what we do within each ministry should flow purposefully out of what we value and love. Whether you have a family of 5 or are single and love to ride your mountain bike, you’ll find a place to help you experience God.
Ministry Areas Grow
God calls us all to grow, to be formed by our Creator, to be strengthen in our faith. You have talents, you have potential, but without the development of such, you tend to forget, leaving you unprepared for what is to come. At White Oak we are committed to the formation of disciples of Christ.
Ministry Areas Go
Disciples are those who have been so moved by another that they CHOOSE to live in such a way that even though their leader or mentor may be gone, you see the many characteristics of the one who is gone in the disciple. They have changed the way they act in favor of a better way. Those who are moved by Christ, live their life in a way that is a reflection of all that Christ found important and essential to life.

What We Believe

We live in the story of God

In the beginning God created and continues the work of creation even now. God was, brought forth life, and called it good. God created human beings in God’s own image, and called us good. Unfortunately, our trust in God failed, and humanity has been in this history long search for truth and hope. Still God’s love remained steadfast, that is, God never gives up on us. God sent God’s Son, Jesus to live among us.

You Matter To God.

Jesus prayed a prayer of sorrow before his death. In it, he prayed of his passion that everyone would know God’s Love, and his sorrow that so many had turned away from that love. We believe that each person matters deeply to God. Though we sometimes stumble and fail in our care for each other, we hold fast to the conviction that every person is a good gift from our Heavenly Father.

We Need God and We Need Each Other

Holy Scripture is pretty clear: We need God and we need each other. That we need God is obvious, but hard to admit. We keep trying to fix everything on our own, the Bible says, trusting in our own righteousness, but we are not doing so well. It is God, the Eternal Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer of Life that gives hope to all humanity. And each other-we were never meant to be alone. That’s why-no matter who you are, and what is going on with you, we have gifts that help each other live and love in Christ.
Our Church…The United Methodist Church

With Christians of other communions we confess belief in the triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Wesley believed that the living core of the Christian faith was revealed in Scripture, illumined by tradition, vivified in personal experience, and confirmed by reason.

The Bible has something True to say. We believe in the Scriptures as contained in the Old and New Testaments. We trust these scriptures as the story of what God is doing in our world, and what it is to be fully alive in Christ Jesus.

We believe that you are God’s work, in the world and He isn’t finished with you yet! God is working, through all of us, to transform lives and open hearts to the Grace we know through Jesus Christ. Further, by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, we will be moved beyond who we were and are, to who it is we might become.

Worship The Lord In Giving

We give as an act of worship, a way that honors God(Proverbs 3:9) while also living mindfully that all we have and give is the Lord’s(Psalm 24:1). We ask big, pray big, and expect big things to come out of a people that lives and operates in Kingdom mentality. Jesus is King over our finances and places us as stewards over His income. We are excited about your desire to give, not only because of how your gift will allow us to continue to be about our mission of being and making disciples, but also because of what your gift communicates to the world about your heart and relationship with God(2 Corinthians 9:12-15). We give back to launch new Kingdom opportunities for the Gospel to reach to ends of the earth.

“Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”- 2 Corinthians 9:7
